Hmm. I like Gungor. This video is a bit…weird. Does God’s love really turn Onnie’s peas and carrots into candy? It’s a little too happy and animated for me.
However, I think the lyrics are truth for the most part. Technically God WAS a man at one point, although not a white man. But I think it expresses well the labels we put on God ourselves. People, especially American people, do tend to make God in our own image. After all, God does indeed love the Hezbollah and President Obama.
I think it is a very basic starting point. God IS love. He lived out that love for us when He sent Christ to die for us- and that is the second point. First point leads to second point. Seond point leads to a relationship with Christ Jesus. But some people have so much junk and baggage that they really do need to just sit with the truth that God is Love for a long time before they can move on to step two.
my thoughts. 🙂
I’ve seen this video and heard this song before. I agree with the thoughts expressed in the post above. However, the song/video leaves me with an uncomfortable feeling that there is some underlying political position being asserted as well. But maybe that’s just me.
